So you want to become a pianist and I will help you achieve that goal. Learning from me you will discover how to read the dots on the page - the printed music -  how to communicate and express yourself through your performance and many techniques and tips to help you get to the standard you want combining efficiency with pleasure.

Complete beginners up to Grade 8 exam standard are welcome. Saying that, you don't have to take exams at all. My ambition for you is to have a life-long relationship with enjoying playing piano for your own pleasure. It is called "playing" music for a reason! But I can prepare you for Trinity and ABRSM examinations if you wish.

Every lesson is personalised and unique. I do not fill my diary with hundreds of pupils as I wish to focus on fewer pupils fully and give them quality attention.

Your experience

At the start there is a lot of focus on good technique so you can progress a long way and quickly but you will get to play tuneful piano pieces to enjoy the process at the same time.

I have a good sense of humour and we laugh in the lessons. I had to go through hundreds of hours of lessons and thousands of hours of practice so I will be with you on your musical journey all the way. My pupils comment that I am a friendly teacher.

And adults are also warmly welcomed to learn - it isn't only for children! I have adults from their 20s and into their 60s. Often they have learned in the past and want to restart their lessons and some are completely new and I'm pleased to report progressing very well.
